CAL BOTER (restaurant)

CAL BOTER website

Hidden in the streets of Gràcia,Cal Boter is the right place to try traditional Catalan restaurat-food in Barcelona. They cook the kind of food you might find in a restaurant in the country, but they are in one of the most traditional, full of local flavor, barris of Barcelona.

You should try carn a la brasa (grilled meat), esqueixada (cod salad), escalivada (grilled pepper and aubergine), peus de porc (pork feet?) or botifarra amb mongetes. If you dare, they have also cargols a la llauna (snails).

The place is cosy, with a typical casa de menjars decor. Staff is friendly and clients mostly local. If you wake up hungry, they have also esmorzars de forquilla (the Catalonian version of brunch) from 11 am.

It is not exactly "eat on a budget" but it is not expensive at all.
